It's getting hot in here
Our planet's climate is warming up, but Siberia is feeling the effects more than many other places, and its misfortune could have a global impact. How?
Siberia's meltdown is releasing methane - an extraordinarily efficient greenhouse gas. Methane stays in our atmosphere for over ten years, and is better at trapping heat than carbon dioxide. More methane means more melting… which in turn means more methane: climate warming causing more climate warming, and not just in Siberia.
