Are we there yet?
Stem cells are big news - but when are we going to see this research being used? Stem cell expert Nick Fisk says the cells are already proving useful:
'Stem cells aren't just about futuristic treatment. We can use them now to better understand diseases and even test drugs. Stem-cell research means scientists can take cells from people with diseases, and grow them into tissues in the lab that help us understand what caused disease in the first place.'
