Guided by ultrasound, doctors insert a special needle through the mother's abdomen into the baby's heart. Then they remove the needle, leaving a flexible sheath behind.
The medics insert a tiny balloon through the sheath and past the valve blockage. By inflating the balloon and pulling it back through, they stretch the valve.
