These operations are performed when Mum is around 25 weeks pregnant, so Junior's heart is only the size of a grape. Doctors view the delicate procedure on a monitor.
'When we do the operation we use ultrasound guidance, sound waves that bounce off all the tissue interfaces in the baby's heart. We can see real time pictures of the baby's heart, we can judge which way in we need to go, and inside the heart we can usually see the wire and even the balloon inflating.'
