Going ahead

'Having spent time observing these girls, I'm prepared to go ahead with surgery. I feel that it would be doing a lot more harm to reject them. Their state of mind is desperate - desperate acts could take place. It boils down to the surgeon: you're the guy holding the knife. If you can't live with yourself, don't do it. You have to be able to go to sleep at night.'
