Venus dances with the Sun

Get ready for your chance to catch one of the rarest sights in our skies - a transit of Venus. On 8 June this year our sister planet sits on a straight line between us and the Sun, for the first time in over a century.

No living person has ever seen this spectacle, so sky watchers all over the world will be tracking the transit. The planetary tango will last about six hours and can be seen from most of Europe, Africa and Asia.
