Inside this plastic tube is a homeopathic remedy called Silicea 200 K, which has been prepared by Doctors Shachindra and Bhawisha Joshi, homeopaths based in Mumbai, India. Homeopathic medicines have been popular in India since the 1840s and rely on the idea that ‘like cures like’. For instance, if you are vomiting, your treatment will be something that causes vomiting but in a smaller, much diluted dose. Homeopathy is one of several medical traditions recognised by the Indian government.
