Large syringe used during liposuction procedures, Europe, 2000

In the cosmetic procedure known as liposuction, fat is removed from parts of the body – such as the stomach and thighs – using this large syringe. Liposuction is becoming increasingly popular with both men and women but as with any surgery there is risk and the results may not always last.
