Safer sex kit and health education material, London, England, 1992

Kits like this were handed out to students during Imperial College’s AIDS and HIV Awareness Week, in February 1992. The kit includes a condom, K-Y Jelly, information leaflets about AIDS, HIV and safe sex, and a National AIDS helpline phone number. The charity Body Positive also offered counselling for anyone diagnosed with HIV. Universities are encouraged to promote HIV and AIDS awareness in a time of greater openness in regard to sexually transmitted infections.
