Hunting trousse, England, 1560-1580

The hunting trousse contains all the instruments needed by a hunter to dismember and prepare a deer. It includes a needle, saws, and knives with different shaped blades, including a skinning knife. They are ornately decorated with brass and the steel blades are engraved. These instruments could also be used for surgery. The same craftsman who made this set might also have made surgical instruments.
