Oak medicine chest, Europe, 1701-1800
Inside this oak medicine chest are eleven glass bottles, four pewter containers, weighing scales and other accessories. Medicine chests were usually found in apothecary shops and pharmacies, but others would be made for wealthy families and kept as household medicine chests.
