Arthritis is a painful joint condition that causes swelling and stiffness. People with arthritis often have difficulty grasping or picking things up. Simple aids such as this tap turning tool have been developed to help with everyday activities. It was donated to the Science Museum’s collections by the British Rheumatism & Arthritis Association.
