Model of a channel pipe, London, England, 1896
The model is of a channel pipe and is a quarter of the actual size. Made on behalf of W H Knight of the Hygiene Referendum, these models, from a set of twelve, were used to teach and assess officials involved in public health. Hygiene and cleanliness were important to public health officials. A full set of models cost about £3. It is shown here with a junction pipe from the same set (1896-61/4/1).
