Poster relating to smoking, London, England, c. 1987-1995
'Does it make my breath smell?' is the question posed by a smoking woman in this poster. 'Not if I stand over here' is the blunt answer from an unseen man. The Health Education Authority produced the poster during the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was aimed at younger smokers. The poster highlighted the anti-social nature of smoking and suggested the habit was a turn-off for the opposite sex. Smoking causes diseases such as lung cancer, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and heart disease.
