This novelty condom is shaped in the form of a clown. It was manufactured in Sweden in the 1980s. There was renewed interest in condoms at this time. This was because they protected against both pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV, gonorrhea and chlamydia. The clown condom is called a ‘Galla spezial praservative’. It is one of a range of novelty products produced by condom makers.
