Make a booking

Educational group visits need to be pre-booked, even if you don't intend to take part in any of our events or activities. To book, please follow these steps: 

Step 1 - plan what you'd like to do

Browse Things to Do in the Museum and make a note of the activities, events and galleries that you would like to include in your visit. Use the filter to help you find things that are suitable for your age group and fit with topics that you'd like to focus on.

We recommend that you don't try to do too much in a day. Your itinerary might include, for example: getting hands-on in Launchpad, participating in a live event and exploring one of the object-rich galleries. This will allow time for lunch, toilet breaks and a visit to the Shop.

Please note that due to the popularity of our hands-on galleries (Launchpad, Web Lab, The Garden and Pattern Pod) we allow a maximum of two hands-on galleries per visit.

Step 2 - check what's on and when

Use the Educators' calendar to check that your chosen activities are scheduled on the day of your visit. Some events are only available on certain days. Please not that the calendar does not reflect actual availability of places.

Step 3 - make your booking

To make your booking you can call us on 020 7942 4777.  We'll be happy to help you plan your itinerary and your booking will be confirmed there and then over the phone. Our lines are open from 8.45am - 5.00pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and 8.45am - 3.00pm on Fridays. (Times may change during school holiday periods or for staff training.)

Alternatively use the Visit Request Form to tell us when you'd like to visit and what you'd like us to include in your itinerary. Please note that your booking isn't confirmed until you receive written confirmation from us.

Step 4 - check your booking

We will always send an email confirming your booking - please read it carefully and tell us if it's not as you expected.

If you don't receive our email within two days, please check your Spam folder in the first instance, then contact us on 020 7942 4777 and we will resend the information.
