Human Body day for KS2

Human Body Days combine two of our human body-related activities to help you theme your visit and offer great value for money.

You'll watch The Human Body, a 2D film in our IMAX Cinema. The narrative follows a day in the life of a family, including a teenager and his pregnant aunt*. Your students will be amazed as they follow the digestion of food from the mouth to the stomach, see body heat, witness sperm racing towards an egg, watch hair growing and cringe at a spot being squeezed, all on a screen taller than four double-decker buses!

Plus you'll encounter Jones the Bones, our madcap doctor and his skeleton friend, as they explore the different organs of the human body - where they are located and what they do.

Couple these with a visit to our Glimpses of Medical History gallery where life-sized reconstructions of medical scenes (for example, a pharmacy, an operating theatre and a dental surgery) depict how people have helped us to look after our bodies at different times in the past.

Booking terms apply for this event.

*Teachers should be aware that there are some short scenes about puberty, human reproduction and birth so this film has a PG rating. If you would like to make a free planning visit to assess the suitability of this film for your class, or would like more information, please contact us on 020 7942 4777.
