Launchpad open for Key Stage 1 bookings

Girl in Launchpad gallery

Launchpad is reserved for particular age groups on particular days. This is to ensure that all children can access the hands-on exhibits at their own pace, and it allows them to collaborate with other pupils of a similar age.

Please check the calendar below for dates when the gallery is open for Key Stage 1. The calendar does not reflect real-time availability so please have alternative dates in mind when you contact us to request Launchpad as part of your visit itinerary.

Alongside your Launchpad booking you can also request places at our Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles science show.

To find out more about Launchpad and the science shows please click here.

Please be aware that after 14:30 other age groups can be booked into the gallery so older children may be present too.

New Developments

From November 2015 our Launchpad gallery will be closed for about a year while we transform the area into an amazing new interactive gallery. The new gallery will be bigger and better than ever before, and free for schools.

Throughout that period The Garden and Pattern Pod will continue to support hands-on learning for EYFS and KS1 children. We are also developing new resources providing fun approaches to exploring galleries and objects that you may not have used before. These will be available on our website soon.

These, together with our established programme of storytelling sessions, shows, workshops, costumed characters, IMAX films and galleries will still enable you to make a truly inspiring school trip. So contact us on 020 7942 4777 and we’ll be happy to help you plan your visit.
