Space Day for KS2

Space Days combine different space-related activities offering a varied programme for your visit and great value for money.

Your itinerary will include the IMAX film Space Station 3D, where students will find out about living in space - eating, drinking, showering and sleeping - with a crew of astronauts in the International Space Station.

You'll also meet one of our costumed characters, to find out about living and working in space, either:

  • NASA astronaut Gene Cernan, who flew on the Apollo missions and was the last man on the Moon, or
  • Russian cosmonaut Svetlana Savitskaya who was the first woman to make a space walk, or
  • Yuri Gagarin, the Russian cosmonaut who was the first ever person in space.

The calendar below shows when Space Days are taking place, however it does not reflect real-time availability of places. Please call us to check and our team will be able to tell you which film and which character are included on each of the dates.

Booking terms apply for this event.

Combine these with time in our Exploring Space gallery where you will see real rockets, space suits, astronaut food and a space nappy. And you can see the actual Apollo 10 Command Module in the adjacent Making the Modern World gallery.

Use our Space Trail for KS2 (see below) to provide a focus for exploring the exhibits in the space-related galleries.
