Psychology: Mind Your Head

Students in the Psychology gallery

Through a range of objects, artworks, audiovisuals and an interactive your students can explore the essential techniques that most psychologists use in their everyday practice.

The exhibition has three main themes:

  • 'Solving puzzles' shows how psychologists have addressed a very difficult problem: just how does the mind work?
  • 'Using tools' case explores the practical ways psychologists tackle problems in education, health and industry.
  • 'Telling stories' features the psychologist famed for treating war poets Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen using the then new method of psychoanalysis – the so-called ‘talking cure’.

This small exhibition is located in the Glimpses of Medical History gallery on the fourth floor.
