KS3 Science Museum Clubs

Join this inspiring programme for school Science and Engineering Clubs to help you engage and excite KS3 students about Science.

Do you run or want to start a Science and Engineering Club?

Let the Science Museum’s Learning team support you to make your club inspiring, engaging and exciting – and easier to run!

The programme…

We train you

You will attend a special course at the Science Museum for Science and Engineering Club leaders, helpers and technicians. Each school signing up to the scheme will have the opportunity for three people to attend the course.

The course will give you practical advice on setting up and running your club, ideas for themes and activities, and you will be able to share experiences with other club leaders. One teacher last year commented that the course was an 'example of brilliantly creative designs, hands on activities and highly inspiring'.

You can attend the course on one of the dates below (teachers from the same school will not all need to attend on the same date).

  • 12 October 2009
  • 15 October 2009

This course is delivered through our partnership with Science Learning Centre London and all participating teachers may be eligible for an Impact Award worth £200. Find out more here.

We support you

You will receive our new Science and Engineering Club boxes that will enable you to run exciting and innovative sessions without spending extra time researching and buying materials. These amazing resources will provide everything you need to capture and inspire your students’ interest in science and engineering.

There are two boxes: one based on crime investigation and the other based upon the theme of a mission to Mars. Each box contains appealing, largely reusable, materials for three different activities - enough to cater for the average-sized club.

At the end of the school year, your school’s Science and Engineering Club members will attend a special Science and Engineering Clubs day at the Science Museum, with exclusive activities and events, and a chance to meet other Science and Engineering Clubs.

You get all of this for just £800.

Places are limited, so sign up early to avoid disappointment. This scheme will support you to run a Science and Engineering Club for a whole year and beyond!
