Atmosphere: exploring climate science

New interactive gallery. New immersive experience. Step into a whole new world and explore the science of our changing climate...

Atmosphere is great for cross-curricular work and specific aspects of the Science curriculum such as the carbon cycle and how the greenhouse effect works.

Students can find out about the science of the climate system, how climate has changed in the past, and the work that scientists do to improve their understanding of the climate. They can also discover how scientists have predicted future changes to our climate, as well as developments in science and technology to respond to these changes.

This immersive gallery combines interactive exhibits with items from the Science Museum's collection and on loan from around the world in five thought-provoking zones:

We'll also be launching a brand-new teachers' resource that supports you to plan and deliver a cross-curricular collapsed-timetable event in your school about the science of climate change.
