This fast-paced and interactive show gets students thinking and talking about the ethical implications of who should have access to our genetic information.

Set in the style of a daytime-TV live debate, our ‘TV hosts’ will challenge students to think about how genetic information should be used, and provoke their views for and against the National DNA Database.

The event covers the basics of DNA and chromosomes, and looks at the ethical considerations in a way that's perfectly pitched for KS3 and KS4 Biology, Citizenship and How Science Works.

Watch this short film for a taste of the event and to find out what other teachers said about it. It starts by showing students in the Who am I? gallery before they took part in The Great DNA Debate:

A visit to the Who am I? gallery would allow students to continue exploring the themes addressed by this event.

Cost: free.
