At bedtime, when Hedgehog is supposed to be settling down to hibernate, his eyes play tricks on him and he thinks he can see monsters. Can he use different light sources to find out what's really going on?
This interactive storytelling takes children on an exciting journey of discovery about light and shadows. It also introduces the idea that some animals hibernate and some animals are nocturnal.
To complement this session take a look at some of the different types of lighting in Secret Life of the Home, and the lighthouse lens and early light bulbs in Making the Modern World.
Check out a video of Science Museum storytelling sessions to give you an idea of what the Not So Sleepy Hedgehog event is like.
