Gas
Natural gas is a fossil fuel. It is a gas that comes from sea creatures that died millions of years ago and it is non-renewable. We can burn gas to heat our homes and cook our food. Power stations can burn gas to make electricity.

Geothermal
Geothermal energy comes from the hot magma in the centre of the Earth. Underground water heats up as it flows near the magma. Geothermal energy can be used to make electricity.

Greenhouse gas
Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are like a blanket that traps heat on Earth. Normally this is good because we want the Earth to be warm. But too much greenhouse gas in the atmosphere could cause the Earth to overheat. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas.
