Hearing

Your ears enable you to detect vibrations in the air around you. We call these vibrations 'sound'. Sound waves in air are like the ripples that a stone makes when it falls into water. When you hear a sound, your ears send information about its pitch (frequency), location, loudness and quality to your brain.
