The sound of music

When you listen to music, most activity is in the right side of your brain. But in 1995, scientists identified an area in the left side of the brain that is enlarged in people with exceptional musical ability. This was especially true of people who have 'perfect pitch' - the ability to identify any musical note without having to compare it with any others. Perfect pitch appears to be partly inherited and partly learnt.
