Dry-air syphon refrigerator made by the Seeger Refrigerator Company of St Paul, Minnesota, USA. Food placed in this wooden zinc-lined insulated ice box is chilled by ice blocks in the top right-hand compartment. Warm air from the foot would rise and the cooler air around the ice would descend to circulate around the food in the adjoining compartments. Inscription inlaid, top front: 'Sole Owners of the Dry Air Siphon System', SEEGER REFRIGERATOR COMPANY, ST P M/No 5'. Three-quarter view, with all doors open except lower right.
