Electric spin dryer, 1929.
Image number: 10250640

Made by Krauss of Leipzig, Germany. Although early attempts had been made to dry clothes by making use of a centrifugal force, this was not generally adopted until an electric motor could be used in the 1920s. Water was expelled from clothes when they were revolved at speed in a cylinder with holes in its walls. Three-quarter view, with lid open.
