Antiseptic machine, 1879.

An antiseptic machine signed 'Bells Patent, 1879, Newcastle on Tyne', powered by a clockwork motor. This was used for rendering the atmosphere antiseptic. The patent specification says: 'My invention relates to treating and applying air for curative purposes. By its means a current of air may be rendered antiseptic, charged with a dry medicament and administered to a patient; or the air rendered antiseptic'.
