Set of mathematical instruments by George Adams, mid 18th century.

George Adams (1704-1772) was instrument maker to King George III, and produced a large number of different instruments including barometers, microscopes, prisms, telescopes and theodolites. This set of mathematical instruments is in a velvet-lined Sheraton case made of oak and mahogany. It includes a sector, parallel ruler, pair of callipers, rectangular protractor, curve drawing instrument and compasses and dividers.
