Wax anatomical figure of a reclining female, c 1771-1780.

This model, probably from Florence, Italy, was used in the study of anatomy, and shows the body's vital organs. The figure is made of bees-wax and hair, with a detachable front to reveal removable internal organs. Overall dimensions: 230mm x 870mm x 396mm.
