Body armour, 1996.

Protective plate sample made by Defence Clothing. It is used in body armour and shows the effect of ballistic testing. This plate is made from a layer of alumina backed with several layers of aramid fibres. It is inserted into a pocket in a flak jacket and is used to provide extra protection to the heart.
