Image number: 10313726

This electric spin dryer was made by the Krauss company of Leipzig in Germany. Although early attempts had been made to dry clothes by making use of a centrifugal force, this was not generally adopted until an electric motor could be used in the 1920s. Water was expelled from clothes when they were revoloved at speed in a cylinder with holes in its walls.
