Voisin Aeroplane, c 1908.

Model (scale 1:10). By 1908 the Voisin biplane was standardised in the form seen in this model. It has a forward elevator, biplane wings and a box-kite tail-unit which enclosed the rudder. Despite being difficult to manoeuvre in any true sense, it was deemed the first viable European aeroplane. The popular Forman biplanes were based on a similar design.
