Scene shows a discourse at the Royal Institution; apparatus on bench and in cupboard beyond; audience left to right includes Sir John Cox Hippisley, Dr Garrick, Sir Humphry Davy (1778-1829) , Benjamin Thompson (Count Rumford) (1753-1814) and Isaac Disraeli (1766-1848).
