Even the youngest children can make beautiful patterns on this touch-screen exhibit. It’s like finger painting but without the mess. Just touch the screen to choose a colour and the size of the ‘brush’, and then let symmetry make drawing butterflies, flowers or snowflakes easy. Even simple shapes become stunning kaleidoscopic patterns which can be seen not only on the screen but also projected onto a huge wall display. Slightly older children can use Kaleido-patterns to investigate the difference between reflection and rotational symmetry.
