Radiation

Nearly all skin cancer cases are caused by exposure to the low-energy ultraviolet rays in sunshine. Sunburn causes gene damage, so fair-skinned people are more at risk than those who tan easily. There is no evidence that the radiation produced by microwaves or power cables can cause cancer although some studies have shown a slightly increased risk of brain tumours in people who use a mobile phone.
