What's in a word?

From 15 July – 21 August:  Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
11.00–13.00
14.00–17.30

Can words sound happy or sad? Dark or bright?

Take part in a real study, and help scientists from University College London find out!  Play fun word-based games to help the researchers discover whether some words sound more like their meaning than others.

Who can take part?

Anyone is welcome to take part, but we particularly encourage children age six and up. Written consent is required for everybody. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian will have to sign the form.

What is Live Science?

Live Science is an ongoing project where real scientists come into the Science Museum to carry out their research using Museum visitors as volunteers. You can take part in real scientific experiments to find out more about yourself.

Nothing dangerous… just fun, interesting experiments.
