Wednesday 26 April
IMAX Theatre, 19.30–21.15 (Doors Open 18.45)
In what has become a showcase for the next generation of British science presenters, the Science Museum is delighted to host the FameLab UK Final for the very first time.
Ten of this year's best up-and-coming science communicators will compete for a £1000 prize as well as a coveted spot at this year's annual International FameLab Final, held at Cheltenham Science Festival in June.
Each competitor has just three minutes to present a scientific concept of their choice and will be judged on the content, clarity and charisma of their presentation.
Previous FameLab alumni have gone on to careers in broadcasting and performing, including Maggie Aderin Pocock (BBC Sky at Night) and Steve Mould and Matt Parker (Festival of the Spoken Nerd). Which science stars of tomorrow will emerge from this year's final?
The FameLab UK final will be compered by our resident comedy duo, Punk Science, and judges on the night are Lewis Dartnell, Aarathi Prasad and the Science Museum's very own Roger Highfield.
For ages 18+
Important: Tickets are free, but entry is permitted to ticketholders on a first come, first served basis. To avoid disappointment on the night, please arrive early to secure a seat.
This event coincides with the Museum's monthly Lates event. You can join the Lates VIP queue for priority admission to the Museum on presentation of your ticket for the FameLab final.
