Launchpad is packed with over 50 interactive exhibits, as well as electrifying shows and dynamic demonstrations, all from the wonderful world of physics.
The gallery is open to all, but it’s particularly aimed at 8- to 14-year-olds, and their parents and teachers. From making water stretchy, to catching shadows, experimenting with mirrors to hearing echoes, children are encouraged to make sense of the way things work.
Explainers (friendly members of staff in red T-shirts) are on hand to answer questions and share their enthusiasm for science.
Come to Launchpad, where children can actually see science happen. Don’t miss this remarkable gallery, one of the world’s leading hands-on science centres.
Under-12s must be accompanied by an adult, and school groups need to pre-book visits.
Additional information about the exhibits is available in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish – go to the information desk in the centre of the Launchpad. Please ask an Explainer if you need help.
From 2 November Launchpad will be closed while we transform the area into an amazing new interactive gallery that will open in Autumn 2016. The new gallery will be bigger than Launchpad and packed with state-of-the-art interactive exhibits.
