The Science Museum's resident comedy team invites you to dine with us on humour and information at the Science Museum Comedy Club. We have a smörgåsbord of guests on this month's menu who'll help you digest tasty morsels of knowledge, all about food and drink.
We're very excited to welcome an icon of the comedy scene to the Science Museum Comedy Club. As half of a double act with Stewart Lee in the '90s Richard made great shows including Fist of Fun. He's widely regarded as the King of the
Edinburgh Festival, and as the originator of comedy podcasts. Lest we forget, he's also the inventor of self-playing snooker. Richard Herring is a truly unmissable comic, so come along and find out why we’re so thrilled to have him.
'The best comedian of his generation' GQ
'Herring is a superior comedian...hilarious' The Guardian
It’s impossible to have a food and drink-themed comedy night in a place like the home of human ingenuity without having the Anarchist Cook on the bill. Prepare yourself for a unique cross between alternative stand-up and music hall variety, and a totally unforgettable performer who's been hailed as 'a Tommy Cooper for the twenty-first century'. You'll soon see why - through tears of laughter.
The Science Museum's curator of consumer technology is currently writing a book about fridges and is going to entertain and enthral you with a rundown on 'five things not to do with a refrigerator'. This will be her second appearance at the Science Museum Comedy Club and we can’t wait.
As well as this trio of terrifically tasty turns, your very own Punk Science will be serving up generous helpings of info and demonstrations that will show you some of the most amazing aspects of food and drink.
Line-up is subject to change.
