Quick dash

Start with the huge steam engines in the Energy Hall, then make your way past rockets and satellites in Exploring Space to Making the Modern World. This centrepiece gallery is laid out as a journey through time and it shows off 150 of our most iconic objects including Stephenson’s Rocket and the Apollo 10 Command Module.

Step into the 21st century as you enter the Wellcome Wing, an area devoted to contemporary science. Spend some time in Who am I? exploring what science has to say about what makes you, you.

Next, head upstairs to Flight for flimsy early flying contraptions, an experimental jump jet and the paper-thin metal skin of a Boeing 747.

Your final stop is Launchpad where you can play with hands-on exhibits that explore the principles of physics.
