India in Space: Moumita Dutta in Conversation (live subtitles)

Wednesday 29 November 2017
IMAX Theatre, 19.30–20.30 (Doors open 19.00)

As part of Lates: Illuminating India, we are delighted to welcome to the Science Museum Moumita Dutta, Project Manager for the Indian Space Research Organisation’s famed Mangalyaan Mars Orbiter mission.

Joining us in person all the way from Bangalore for a conversation with The Sky at Night presenter Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE, Moumita Dutta will be discussing exactly how the ISRO managed to send a probe 33.9 million miles across the solar system to Mars for less than it cost to make the film Gravity, and enlightening us on India’s upcoming lunar mission.

Moumita and Maggie will also discuss the importance of enabling more women to study and work in STEM subjects, and there will of course be the opportunity to put questions of your own to this extraordinary figure from one of the great success stories of 21st century space exploration.

This event features live speech-to-text subtitling for deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people. This service is provided by Stagetext.
