I’VE NEVER SEEN TURKISH STAR WARS

Celebrate Star Wars day with film scholar Iain Robert Smith, who will tell us all about Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam (1982), also known as the ‘Turkish Star Wars’. Discover how director Çetin İnanç edited footage from Star Wars (1977) into his own film, along with music from Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)... and managed to get away with it.
NEON DANCE: LAST AND FIRST MEN
Location: IMAX: The Ronson Theatre

Based on the ground-breaking 1930 novel by Olaf Stapledon, Last and First Men is a 2020 film directed by Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, set in a future where humans find themselves on the verge of extinction. Neon Dance presents a contemporary dance work to accompany the film, with parts of the narration from Tilda Swinton.
