The Science Museum is delighted to once again host the FameLab UK Final, a showcase for the next generation of British science presenters.
Seven of this year's best up-and-coming science communicators from around the UK will compete for a cash prize as well as a coveted spot at this year’s annual International FameLab Final, held at Cheltenham Science Festival in June.
Each competitor has just three minutes to present a scientific concept of their choice and will be judged on the content, clarity and charisma of their presentation.
Previous FameLab alumni have gone on to careers in broadcasting and performing, including Maggie Aderin Pocock (BBC Sky at Night) and Steve Mould and Matt Parker (Festival of the Spoken Nerd). Which science stars of tomorrow will emerge from this year's final?
The FameLab UK final will be compered by our resident comedy duo, Jon and Sam, who will be joined by three guest judges:
- Alom Shaha—science teacher and author
- Helen Scales—marine biologist, broadcaster and writer
- Andrew Smyth—aerospace engineer and Great British Bake-Off finalist
Please note: This event is part of Lates, which is an 18+ event.
